Experiment 002: MOTS-c + SS-31, the Back-to-Back Stack

55-year-old cyclist · Garmin data vs my previous month of racing

The protocol: MOTS-c 5 mg + SS-31 3 mg, sub-Q, two hours before racing on Monday and Tuesday. No dose on Wednesday. Same trainer, food, caffeine and weight as usual.

Monday (race): 233 W average, +10 W on the same race the week before, and I held it over a race six minutes longer. Best 20 minutes was 251 W.

Tuesday: normally my washout day. Last time I raced back-to-back I managed 179 W. This time I did 229 W (+28%), with my best 20 minutes up from 209 W to 241 W (+15%). My heart rate responded like I was fresh (155 bpm average against 137).

Experiment 002 MOTSc SS31

Wednesday (no dose, third hard day running): I planned an easy zone 2 ride and ended up winning the race. Normalised power was 273 W, the joint-highest of the month, and I still had an 891 W sprint at the end.

Recovery: 55 ms overnight HRV after Monday’s race, the highest post-race reading of the month.

How it felt: strong legs, still fine at the finish, and I recovered so fast I could have trained again. I had a sprint left on all three days, which isn’t normal for me. No side effects.

Bottom line: three hard race days in a row, getting stronger rather than fading, which I haven’t done before. This is two dosing days, so next I’ll repeat it on the same weekly races to confirm.
