I train solo these days and haven't had a good TP for years but you don't see or hear guys like this in gyms much these days anyway. I don't think most gym owners would allow this type of motivation anymore. You'd get told to be quiet if you made this much noise lol

I trained with the same guy for more than 15 years until he got injured. Great company & motivation, also helped having a spotter you can trust. It was all loose weights we used back then.

Train solo now, at a time that suits me.
The machines are so much better these days, so less need of a spotter. I do miss the motivation aspect though.

Did you ever train at the Temple, or maybe even the "sin bin/dungeon" mate ?
Some crazy characters in those gyms lol

I haven't trained at these gyms mate but I've trained at a few similar hard-core gyms through the years.
Met a lot of real characters who I would never have known otherwise.

Did the ligaments in his knee, required surgery. Kept him out the gym for months.
He made a couple of attempts to get back but his heart was never in it.

That's pretty much my story too.
Complete ACL Rupture put me on crutches/crippled for 6 months and then another 6 months rehab.
I dropped a ton of size/weight over that year and lost all interest in bbing.

Cant have a partner as work shifts , so have to move routines about and training times to suit. Can see the benefit of a good partner , who helps push you etc
Ones I have had in past have been unreliable or ‘mood hoovers’ or too chatty however lol

I completely detached the labrum in my right shoulder, which required surgery. Kept me out of gym for 3 months but made a full recovery.

Had surgery on Tuesday for umbelical hernia repair which will be a 4-6 week recovery time all going well.

Shooting pain in shoulder when it was slightly out of position, even pulling a door closed with my arm raised was agony. When my shoulder was in a strong position it wasn't too bad, if that makes sense.

Went to various physios made no difference.

Eventually went to see Prof Gordon MacKay Orthopaedic Consultant who diagnosed me immediately. He's one of the top sports injury surgeons in the UK.

Had surgery at Ross Hall hospital Glasgow. He was able to reattach labrum & tighten all the ligaments in my shoulder, which were stretched, so I was able to regain all the power in my shoulder.

Long expensive process mate but in the was worth doing.

Cost about 4k but that was a few years ago.
Arthroscopy & repair. In other words go in for a look & repair damage. Was keyhole surgery to speed up recovery time.
I had no significant cartilage loss.

If you've got the cash mate go for it. Night & day compared to NHS & you know it's a specialist surgeon performing the op.
Timescale wise, I only had to wait 10 days for surgery after first consultation.
But had to wait 5 weeks for the hernia surgery I've just had due to a lot more people going private now.

Yea there was wear & tear, but he tidied everything up when he was doing repair.
See this is far better I’m just left for a second opinion honestly I’m going too look into this mindset isn’t good it’s not cheap but being disabled what choice have we got

That's the way I felt about it.
I had to get a loan to finance it & i know we all have different priorities but from my point of view it was worth it.
I have never regretted it. I made a full recovery which can't be guaranteed but going with someone like Gordon MacKay gives you the best chance.

Booked in with Gordon mackay 7th November for consultation going to ask for my recent mri scans of the surgeon get them sent out to me and the one 2 years ago let Gordon see them and tell me what’s going on because I can’t deal with it any longer something is wrong definitely worse than they are letting on the other surgeon I’m waiting on is the top surgeon in Edinburgh but he’s a cocky cunt too arrogant I’m sure I had him for the right shoulder never got back to me or setup a new mri phoned twice aswell this was last year.
